Morissey
Everything old is new again. Look at fashions, and the 1980s are back in their colorful glory. The music is back in style too, as are are the musicians who first made those songs famous. One such musician on tour now is Morissey. Back in the 1980s, Morissey was the front man for the New Wave band, the Smiths. He also released music as a solo artist during the 1980s. Now, he’s back in concert, performing songs that defined a generation of teens, who have since grown up into Generation Xers. Morissey may have been the first musician, with his band the Smiths, to introduce angst into music. Before the Smiths, music was primarily happy and upbeat.
With the Smiths, and Morissey as their front man, coupled with the long drawn out guitar chords and somber melodies angst is a feeling that one cannot help being drawn into. And the teens who grew up to become the Generation Xers surely know a thing or two about angst. But they also have no qualms about seeing the singers who’s anthems they sang day in and day out. Generation Xers, if anything, are loyal to the memories that they grew up with. Groups that originated in the 1980s and are currently touring have afforded themselves success because of the nostalgia they bring to the generation of adults who listened to them on their portable cassette players. So, don’t panic on the streets of your town. Visit www.cheaperticketprices.com to book tickets to a Morissey show near your town.
