Cross Canadian Ragweed, the new CCR

The boys from Oklahoma have been touring hard over the last decade bringing their country/southern rock style of music to fans all over the country. The one thing that still aggrevates me is mainstream radio has still not included CCR into their playlists on a regular basis. As far as being country, these guys are more country than 90% of the singers on country radio today. Plus, their music is better than 99% of the stuff they play on country radio. As far as being rockstars, these boys can jam with the best of them. They did enjoy a brief moment in the spotlight from country radio with their hits “17″ and “Sick and Tired,” but country radio soon tuned out to allow time for watered down pop-country acts like Rascal Flatts. This is where satellite radio becomes ablessing my friends. Station’s like Outlaw Country, and alternative country stations keep CCR rolling over the radio. My personal favorite of theirs is their live album recorded at the Wormy Dog Saloon. It has includes some of there best known songs, and a touch of blues and live favorites. Cody Canada is one of the best leader in the business, and the band has long been known for taking time out to meet and greet their fans. They still play at honky tonks every weekend, even though their popularity would allow them to sell out much larger arenas. Their live shows are very entertaining and ticket prices are very reasonable.
