4th March, 2010 - Posted by Traveler -
For those of ya’ll that haven’t ever experienced a festival Texas style, The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo sets the mark as to which all others are compared to. This is the biggest rodeo and entertainment event in Texas and the biggest Rodeo in the world. Each year, almost 2 million people take part in the events that stretch over almost a month each year in March. The best cowboys from all over the world come to compete, so do the best BBQ cooks anywhere. Concerts from today’s hottest acts perform every night after the rodeo, and carnival rides and petting zoos are set up for the kids. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has been going strong since the 1930’s, and continues to grow larger every year. For years, the Astrodome was home to the event, but with the construction of the larger Reliant Stadium in the early 2000’s, the event was moved to its new home. This is one event the whole family can enjoy.
