Cruising to Cancun

One of the most popular cruise destinations in Cancun, Mexico.  Not only is it a popular cruise destination, it is one, if not “the” place to go for spring break, and one of the top honeymoon destinations.  Located on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Cancun came to be the tourist mecca it is in the 70’s, as a project by the Mexican government to bring in foreign dollars.  Cancun’s history is based on its Mayan ancestors.  The Mayans ruled this land for centuries, until they were run out by Spanish Conquistadors, or died because of disease.  Ancient Mayan ruins are still visible throughout the area.  Modern Cancun is filled with hundreds of hotels, resorts, restraunts, and surrounded by miles of white sandy beaches, and beautiful water.  The activities to do while visiting are endless, and traditional Mexican entertainment is plentiful.
