Destination: El Paso, Texas

el-pasoFor an American West experience at its finest, El Paso is the place to go.  Set in the Western tip of Texas, El Paso is on the banks of the Rio Grande and is neighbor to the massive border town of Juarez, Mexico.  Coming in to El Paso at night on I-10, you can see the sky glowing in the sky from 60 miles away.  There are nearly 3 million people in both cities combined, and the list of things to do are endless.  Rosa’s Cantina, made famous by Marty Robbins in the song “El Paso” is still in business, but I’m not sure if Felina is still dancing there.  If you like true Western cowboy boots, El Paso is the place to get them.  Outlets for Tony Lama,  Luchesse, Justin, and many custom boot makers are found throughout the city.  If you are into authentic Mexican food, you can sample it in El Paso at its finest.  When you plan your trip, pack accordingly cause it gets really cold in the winter, and very hot in the summer.
