The one state in the South that is often overlooked is Arkansas. Not many people ever bring up the state in conversations about great destinations, but Arkansas should be one a must see for everyone. The diverse topography and climate provides great weather and beautiful scenery year round. The Ozarks in the Northwestern part of the state offer spectacular views along with great back country hiking, biking, fishing, and hunting. For a great day long trip, rafting the Buffalo River is a popular choice. The only diamond mine in the U.S. is located in Murphreesboro, Arkansas. This is where the famous Hope diamond was discovered and is open to the public for mining. Hot Springs offers some of the best mineral springs to bathe in, and are said to have great medicinal healing powers. Arkansas is also home to former president Bill Clinton, and where the Wal-mart and Tyson Foods are headquartered. If you are a sports fan, taking in a Razorback game in Fayetteville is an experience you will never forget. Come see for yourself and learn why Arkansas is “The Natural State.”
