Travel to New York City
20th January, 2010 - Posted by Traveler -
New York City is probably the most popular city in the world. Not only is it the largest city by population in the United States, it is one of the largest in the world and the undisputed financial capital anywhere. Home to over 8 million people, cluttered together on a relatively small piece of land, Central Park is probably the only place in town that has not been paved with concrete. The list of things to do while you visit are endless given the history of the town and the enormous population. The Statue of Liberty still stands in the harbor welcoming tourists and immigrants as it has done for years. The town boasts multiple pro sports teams in almost every category, none being more famous than the New York Yankess. Broadway plays host to world famous entertainment with the best musicals, plays, and art districts anywhere. New York’s sky line is unprecedented because of the sheer number and size of the buildings. When flying into town, you have two major airports, JFK and La Guardia to choose from, so check fares into both airports to find the best deal. I could go on forever about things to do while you are there, but the best way to get a feel for the place is to book a tour, or make a list of things you want to see before you arrive so you can figure out the best way to get there, using up the least amount of time. Without help from a guide or a trusted local, the massive town will swallow you up and you will spend most of your free time trying to get home instead of seeing all of the wonderful sights.
