For us travelers, we are fortunate to live in a country that has such diverse landscapes and scenery. Many nations have only one or two. Our great country has everything from beaches, deserts, mountains, great plains, deltas, magnificent glaciers, and anything else you can think of. Here is a list of 10 beautiful places to visit in no particular order.
- The Grand Canyon-Set in Northwest Arizona, the Grand Canyon is one of the wonders of the world. Carved out by the Colorado River, the canyon offers millions of visitors a year a sight that can only be found in the good ol’ USA.
- Key West, Florida-The southern most part of the U.S. is Key West, and its beautiful beaches and tropical atmoshere offers some of the best fun in the sun in the world.
- Aspen, Colorado-Set in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, Aspen is a resort town that can be enjoyed year round. Known most for its great snow skiing, Aspen offers spectacular views and endless outdoor activities in the summer as well.
- Mt. Rushmore/Black Hills-South Dakota’s Black Hills is home to the most famous mountain carving in the world in Mt. Rushmore, but that’s not all. The famous old west town of Deadwood is just a short drive away, along with the Sturgis which holds the most famous bike rally in the country. Gold mining, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, and several theme parks such as, Bear Country USA also lure in the visitors every year.
- Lake Tahoe-Set in the Sierras on the border of California and Nevada is Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is a beautiful lake set high in the hills, that offers all of the fun summer activities along with great snow skiing in the winter.
- Savannah, Georgia-This charming southern town symbolizes the old South. Still filled with old plantation homes, and victorian architecture, a visit here will put you in a scene straight out of “Gone with the Wind.”
- The Great Smokey Mountains-Set in eastern Tennessee, this mountain range offers all of the rugged an naturally beautiful scenery you could ask for. It is also one of the most popular destinations to witness the changing of the leaves in the Fall.
- Yellowstone National Park-Our most popular National Park is set in Northwestern Wyoming. Millions are lured each year to view the wildlife, geysers, waterfalls, canyons, and beautiful mountains. Yellowstone is actually the setting for one of the largest and most powerful volcanoes in the world.
- Niagra Falls-On the border of New York and Canada, Niagra Falls is the world’s largest waterfall.
- Glacier National Park-Set in Montana, Glacier National Park offers many of the same features of Yellowstone, minus the Super Volcano.
