st-louisSt. Louis is a place often overlooked as one of the most influential cities in American History.  St. Louis is one of the few cities in the world to host both a World’s Fair and an Olympics.  The city has seen its population decline over the years, but is still home to over 350,000 people and home to several Fortune 500 companies.  The most distinguishing feature of the town has to be the Gateway Arch, or as many call it, “The Gateway to the West”.  Two other features that were instrumental to the towns growth, were the Mighty Mississippi and Missouri Rivers.  When rivers were a major route to ship goods in the early part of American history, the town’s location to these rivers made it a major trading center.  If you want to experience the rivers from the view of an old paddle wheel steamboat like our ancestors did, you can take a ride on the ”Tom Sawyer” or “Becky Thatcher” paddle wheels.  Budweiser called St. Louis home until it was sold to European beverage company Inbev.  You can still tour the massive brewery and take a look at the famous Clydesdales that symbolize the company.  St. Louis is also home to the professional sports teams: St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, and St. Louis Blues.  Barbecue and Blues music is also a major player in the towns culture and you can sample the best of both of them anywhere in town.  There are many other exciting things to do while you are in town, so when you are ready to go to St. Louis, get over to  http://www.cheaperticketprices.com/ for the best deals on airfare, hotel reservations, and rental cars.
