Florida Has Art

That’s right, most think Florida is all about Disney World and the fact the entire state is surrounded by oceans and beautiful beaches. Many forget the little hidden gems along the way.
One of those places is Delray Beach. Sure, come for sand, surf and sun, but stay for the Arts. I can personally name at least 15 art gallery’s with everything from the eclectic to the common man, from top notch blown glass to Cuban folk art. There’s also the Delray Beach Film Festival that runs from May 19-24th and www.cheaperticketprices.com can get you there in a snap.
This non-profit organization not only shows films that may never be seen in a big theatre, but are quite worthy of some of Europes finer venues, from short films to feature length. They also offer classes on film directing, marketing your fledgling production as well as screen writing and film financing. (for the artsy folks, they teach exactly how to get into the film business, a valuable thing. You could be the next “Slumdog Millionaire” maker!)
I certainly won’t forget to mention the music part of the Arts. There’s the “5th Avenue Jazz” on May 7th that goes on for 6 weeks each Thursday and features local as well as global talent. Downtown comes alive and with the usual warm weather who could resist making a full week of the events, classes and culture that are offered in this little South Florida enclave.
Check out the finer details at http://www.downtowndelraybeach.com/site.php?PageID=2, and then book a flight with www.cheaperticketprices.com for a little fun, sun and enjoyment of the Arts.
