Memphis Tennessee

Ahhh, Memphis in May means just one thing to this writer, time for the World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest, and www.cheaperticketprices.com can get you there, well…cheaper.  Sure, many go for the legendary rhythm and blues, rock and roll and even country music of this quirky town that the king of rock and roll, Elvis, called home.  Tourist flock to his home Graceland just to rekindle that bygone era.

Others just wander Beale Street and it’s unique shops and hidden BBQ joints down side streets and take in the sights and sounds.I don’t think anyone should skip some pulled pork Memphis style, and with $90,000 dollars in prizes, the World Championship BBQ festival brings the best grillers and chillers from around the country.

After “pigging out” go back to any one of the many hotels and catch a nap to sleep it off, because at night this town comes alive.  BB King loves this town for a reason, and it’s got great venues for listening to some superb rhythm and blues, jazz and of course rock and roll.  From smoky little dives where BB himself used to play to larger and better known bars and clubs, night time in Memphis is when you want to be wide awake and ready for anything.  But if you don’t try the awesome BBQ, you’re missing out on a lot!
