Saints may have lost their edge
4th January, 2010 - Posted by Traveler -
3 1/2 weeks ago, the New Orleans Saints were on top of the power rankings and everybody’s list for the team to take the NFC Championship. It’s not that way now. Having lost 3 in a row going into the playoffs, and given a “plain ol butt whippin” by conference rival Dallas Cowboys, they are no longer a favorite to go all the way. Even before their losing streak began, the Saints started to barely get by teams that weren’t even considered threats. That powerhouse offense that put up astronomical numbers has faded as rival defenses have taken control of Drew Brees’s offense. The Saints still earned a first week bye and come into the playoffs as the number 1 team in the NFC. Hopefully the boys will get it together and finish out the season the way they started. Winning Big. If there is one team in the league that deserves a Super Bowl ring, it is the Saints.
